    • Born on January 5, 1934, in South Africa, he grew up in Brooklyn, New York, USA. At the age of three, Ramone started playing the violin and was considered a musical prodigy. By the age of ten, he was already performing in front of Princess Elizabeth.

    In the late 1940s, Ramone studied violin at the Juilliard School, where he became classmates with Phil Woods, a famous jazz saxophonist and composer.

    Ramone opened his first recording studio before he turned twenty and acquired American citizenship in December 1953.
